When Are the End-Times? 🧐

"Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?" Matthew 24:3

Friends, as Jesus sits on the Mount of Olives, his disciples approach him with that EXACT question! Yet what exactly did he mean by it?? 🤔

So … When are the end times? This SPECIFIC question has kept believers wondering for the last two millennia. And, honestly, nearly EVERY generation has believed that some event in their world was talked about in Biblical prophecy. In our time, we often picture the end-times as a not-so-distant future filled with dramatic events: fiery skies, global catastrophes, and a world plunged into chaos.

OK, OK. I’m just like you and when I look at some of the things going on in Western culture, I’m wondering myself if the time is near 🔥

But what if Jesus's answer was more layered than it appears at face value? What if he was speaking not only of a far-off future, but also of an event much closer to his time?

Look, it’s obvious that there are several yet-to-be fulfilled events of Biblical prophecy, most notably, the bodily return of King Jesus ushering in eternity at the end of history.

But again, what if the majority of Jesus’ words in his message on the Mount of Olives was actually, and ACCURATELY, predicting the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD by the Roman armies. This catastrophic event, with its siege, famine, and the burning of the Jewish temple, mirrored many of the signs Jesus described in Matthew 24. Could it be that Jesus was addressing both the fall of Jerusalem and the ultimate end of the age? Could it be that Jesus’ kingdom is already AND not yet?
