"In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights." Genesis 7:11-12
Did you know that by geological appearances the world is very young. I don't know if you realize it but the ground beneath your feet seems to have been formed by a series of huge water surges in an event similar to the global flood described in the Bible. If you're like me that sounds crazy, right?! However, the world's mega sequences (or rock layers like the ones we see in the Grand Canyon) ... those rock layers contain the fossil record are comprised of sedimentary rock. Sedimentary rocks like sandstone, limestone and shale are produced when water carries and compacts smaller particles. What does this have to do with the earth being young? Well, those layers don't seem to have any evidence of erosion or disruption by organic life in between them. They seem to have been deposited rapidly in a series of catastrophic water surges not deposited gradually over millions of years. That's food for thought and more reason God's Word is trustworthy so that you can put your trust totally in Jesus today!!
