“Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.” Exodus 14:21-22
Isn’t our salvation amazing? If you have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ you know how special it is to experience our redemption from the clutches of certain doom. The Israelites came to understand God’s great grace in dramatic fashion as their Savior literally parted the Red Sea before them and they passed through the waters of their salvation on dry ground. All this while those seeking to destroy them, were themselves destroyed by God’s mighty hand. Sadly, many living in the world today don’t even realize that this Biblical story is an actual historical event and that the likely location of this miraculous crossing has been found. In recent weeks, I’ve also shown that the same can be said about the real Mount Sinai and split rock at a location in northwest Saudi Arabia known as Jabal al Lawz. This location perfectly matches historical records and the Biblical description of Mount Sinai. Well, on the way there from Egypt, we see Nuweiba Beech in the Gulf of Aqeba. From this beach to the adjacent landing on the Saudi side of the Red Sea there is a natural land bridge from which the Israelites could have escaped harm’s way once God parted the waters. Why is this location so important? It’s literally the ONLY path they could have taken since every other way would have been blocked by cliff-ridden and cavernous terrain impossible to cross. The location even contains evidence of an ancient destroyed chariot army at the bottom of the sea. It sounds to me like God knew what he was doing when he saved his people! Even better news is that God knows exactly what he is doing in your situation too! He’s got you right in the palm of his hand. Why haven’t more contemporary scholars looked seriously at this location? For starters, it’s only been on our radar since it’s discovery about forty years ago. Yet, even though awareness is growing, too many people in the academic community just don’t believe the story is true to begin with. Therefore, they’re not even looking for the place of one of the greatest and most well-known miracles in human history. So pray that god will open the eyes of this generation. In addition, don’t make the same mistake of thinking that God won’t work in your life when you trust him with faith. If you make that mistake, you might never see how powerfully he’s working through your life even if the evidence is right in front of your eyes.
Application:
What does it mean to you that strong evidence exists for the Red Sea crossing as it is described in the Bible?
What does God’s great salvation mean to you? Have you ever felt like he’s brought you through the waters?
How can you change your perspective to expect more miracles from God in your life? What’s one action step you can take today?
