šŸ”„Ā Justified by Faith ALONE! šŸ¤Æ

ā€œTherefore, since we have been JUSTIFIED THROUGH FAITH, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access BY FAITH into this grace in which we now stand.ā€ Romans 5:1-2 Ā

Ā

OK friends, look, Iā€™m going a little deep this morning ā€¦ Iā€™m talking about the word JUSTIFICATION šŸ˜±Ā but please donā€™t fall asleep on me yet BECAUSE our justification is actually super important!

Ā

IN FACT, this topic (as it is defined by the Bible and earliest Christians) also happens to be the subject of my new video linked šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡ In fact, the word ā€œjustifyā€ literally means to DECLARE RIGHTEOUS and itā€™s the opposite of condemnation.

Ā

Iā€™m not sure if you realize this, but we NEED to be righteous to know God and this is a problem because literally NO ONE is righteous šŸ˜±Ā So this is where the beauty of what Paulā€™s saying above comes in ā€¦ God has provided a righteousness for us and he CREDITS or COVERS us with that righteousness because of our FAITH and our faith ALONE!

Ā

Now the Hebrew understanding of faith isnā€™t just mental agreement. Itā€™s heartfelt trust or obedience to Godā€™s promise of salvation offered in Jesus (the Gospel) ā€¦ this is what the Bible describes as true, saving faith. This is how we KNOW that we know God ā€¦ but the fact remains ā€” We have been declared righteous by faith and by faith alone in Jesus and his Gospel! AMAZING right?!

Ā

Application:

Have you ever heard the word JUSTIFICATION in church? Do you understand what it means?

Ā

Why is a justification by FAITH ALONE so incredible for sinners?

Ā

What might this kind of justification mean to you personally?
