āFor he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed.ā Acts 17:31 NIV
Ā
Hey friends! I know Iāve been talking a lot about HELL lately. To say that this topic is UNPOPULAR in todayās climate is an understatement. So I guess this discussion has me thinking: āWill God REALLY judge us?ā
Ā
I ask this because we seem to live in a world where people truly donāt care about ANY moral standard. I KNOW you know what Iām talking about ā¦. Thatās why they say, āDonāt judge me!āĀ
Ā
But whatās the deal? If there IS a judgment, wouldnāt it actually be LOVING to tell someone about Godās judgement?? Well, the answer to your question is āYESā!
Ā
This DECLARATION is exactly what the apostle Paul preached to a group of pagans in Athens. In fact, he spoke very directly and specifically about Godās judgement THROUGH Jesus Christ as he encouraged them to head the warning.
Ā
Donāt forget, these people had no frame of reference for what he was telling them. But he said it anyway.
Ā
So, if this is the case, why donāt we do the same? Why do we sanitize our message in order to accommodate, thinking this is actually a GOOD thing?
Ā
Paul didnāt.
Ā
Think about that this week when you have an opportunity to share your faith and see how the Holy Spirit prompts you!
Ā
Application:
What do you think about Jesusā future judgment?Ā
Ā
How is this judgment relevant today?
Ā
How should the church communicate Godās judgment to the world around them?
